Lost Nation Theater
The New York City Drama League rates Lost Nation Theater as one of the best regional theaters in America. One of Central Vermont’s most valuable artistic institutions, LNT has grown from a small summer theater with a seasonal budget of approximately $20,000 to a nationally recognized, year-round, resident professional company with an annual budget of over $300,000 serving over 15,000 patrons and students. The Theater’s productions are intimate, human-scale events with rich, poetic language, and socially relevant messages. The theater presents over 120 individual performance events per year.
Besides presenting award-winning performances, the Theater offers educational programs for ages 2 to 92. Many of these programs reach individuals who would not have the opportunity to experience a live performance. For example, musicians, visual artists, dancers, and storytellers visit in eighteen different Head Start (age 1-5) classrooms and family outing workshops throughout the area, benefiting well over 800 children and families.
