For over a century the Kellogg-Hubbard Library has preserved yesterday, informed today, and inspired tomorrow. Formed in 1894, the Library has cultivated its position as steward of the intellectual energy in Central Vermont – promoting life-long learning, the free exchange of ideas, and literacy. The Children's Library is a lively spot for storytelling and activities that engage young readers and their families. Adult programs provide a broad range of topics including fascinating travel adventures to exotic places like a Siberian village to learning more about your backyard garden. The librarians are ready to help patrons find an arcane piece of knowledge about a rare plant or where the closest source of maple syrup is located. And the Library's collection offers a world of fiction and nonfiction books that will keep even the most avid readers busy. The Library relies on donations to buy books and other materials, to offer programs for adults and children, and to keep pace with changes in technology.
