Central Vermont Adult Basic Education, Inc.
For over 40 years, Central Vermont Adult Basic Education has provided a full range of adult education and literacy services throughout Washington, Lamoille, and Orange counties. CVABE offers free, individualized, and confidential academic services to adults and teens 16 years and older.
Students, staff, and volunteers meet at CVABE's seven centrally located centers or at other community-based sites. Volunteers extend CVABE's reach into virtually every town and city in the region by working with students in one of the seven learning centers and by meeting with them in community locations. Staff and volunteers assist students with reading, writing, and math; learning English as another language; obtaining high school diplomas; acquiring computer skills; and preparing for college and work. CVABE carefully matches it services to meet individual student needs. This approach is a hallmark of the organization's successful adult education and literacy programs for students of all ages and all cultural backgrounds.
