This approach is particularly successful with young adult students. Computer programs such as Rosetta Stone accelerate mastery of speaking and understanding English. Photo 7: Students appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of the Depot Youth Education Center in Barre, where they learn at their own speed. Tamika, whose owner, Ed Pirie, runs this program, has proven to be an effective education assistant for students who have trouble focusing - the warm acceptance of Tamika is a form of therapy for many young people.
