For over 160 years, National Life has played a role in the life of Vermont.

The goal of the National Life Group Charitable Foundation is to give back to its community by supporting organizations and initiatives that make a positive difference.

As a major employer and as a committed corporate citizen, we are determined to contribute to the health and vitality of the communities in our region. This commitment is manifest in a number of ways — such as the involvement of National Life people and their families as active participants and leaders in community-based organizations and efforts. It is also demonstrated by the support the company has provided over the years to the non-profit organizations that serve and enrich this area. In addition to grants through the Foundation, National Life Group helps non-profits with event sponsorship and in-kind donations of printing, meeting space, equipment, and volunteers. Since most of our employees and retirees and their families live in Central Vermont, an area with a sparse population and a thin base of charitable capital, NLGroup commits a substantial percentage of its charitable giving to Washington County.

Outlined in this website is information related to this aspect of our grant making to guide those seeking support of their work.
